Stumptown Manor will not be taking any new reservations until the last weekend in June. If you are already booked, we are looking forward to hosting you :)

Our world has changed a lot in the past week, in ways that we have never seen before or thought possible! But here we are ... Same for you all!?!

Coronavirus was never close to my radar before that I know of! Most disasters bring us together, this one calls for staying in, away from other people.

In the past week, toilet paper was...

March 6, 2017

It's 2017 and it seems like a blink or two and now we are already in MARCH! We have travelers passing through in Winter and visitors to the area, however March seems to be a bit of a kick off time for our guest season here. We have new reservations popping up almost daily and dates are filling in for the year.

We're starting to see the first bits of color on our trees at Stumptown Manor

March is also the time that Mud Sales start. Why are they called mud sales? My version is that they are fundrais...

May 9, 2016

We are already in the month of May, a lovely month normally, but so far this year we are catching up on rain and more rain. Seems like we are in a holding pattern of sorts!

But hey, the grass is green and our flower beds and gardens are still growing. Here's my kitchen from a few days ago as I prepped a summer frittata for breakfast. That bowl of zucchini in the front is from one of my favorite local stores, Miller's Health Food Store, just up the road from us. Yum!

And there is still lots to do...

Lancaster County, PA is so many great activities for kids. One of the best, rides! Here are three of our our guests' favorites.

As I mentioned in last month’s update, mud sales are the place to be for bargain shoppers! Not bargain as in always the lowest price, more a bargain because it’s unusual and you can find things that are completely unseen in any other place besides Lancaster County.

Lancaster County mud sales are an annual tradition that brings our communities together to raise funds for local, volunteer fire companies. Anything and everything is for sale: farm produce, cattle, quilts, housewares, lumber, antiq...

Spring is easy my favorite season considering all the color and beauty that just comes naturally after the usual dormant winter season. Love this Spring weather again. It came early to Lancaster County and brought with it all the beauty and color that normally comes weeks later. Surprises popped up everywhere and it’s not that I don’t know things will come up like daffodils and tulips but it is a miracle of sorts every year and thus a surprise that I love each time that it happens.

Many of our guests at the bed and breakfastare folks who  frequently visit Lancaster, some have been making the trip for years, others enjoy the occasional weekend get away. Like our guests, we also have a favorite vacation spot that we love returning to year after year. For us, we head south.

We get so excited about our trip to Florida each year!  Heading out in February or March when Winter is starting to feel like it might never end. We look forward to time in the sun and on our bikes...
